General Annotation

Function:

DNA-binding protein that specifically binds heat shock promoter elements (HSE) and activates transcription. HSF1 is unable to bind to the HSE unless the cells are heat shocked or treated with nonionic detergents. It presents constitutive DNA binding activity when the C-terminal is deleted.

Subcellular Location:

Cytoplasm Nucleus Cytoplasmic during normal growth and moves to the nucleus upon activation.

Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Intra-Assay CV: ≤6.5%

Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):Three samples of known concentration were tested in five separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.

Linearity
