Interacts with GRB2 and PIP5K1A (By similarity). Forms a complex with SQSTM1, PRKCZ and TRAF6 (By similarity). Interacts with SLC1A2.

Components of cellular adhesives complexes. Contribute to cell fate determination and regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. Involved in the regulation of actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell migration. Contributes to the linking and/or strengthening of epithelia cell-cell junctions in part by linking adhesive receptors to the actin cytoskeleton. May be involved in signal transduction from cell adhesion sites to the nucleus. Plays a important role in regulation of the kinase activity of AURKA/Aurora-A for mitotic commitment. Is also a component of the IL-1 signaling pathway modulating IL-1-induced NF-kappa-B activation by influencing the assembly and activity of the PRKCZ/SQSTM1/TRAF6 multiprotein signaling complex. Can functions as adapter molecules in the formation of large multiprotein complexes that form on DNA and that influence transcription.
